Our animated feature RABBIT SCHOOL – GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG was the opening film of the children’s program at this year’s Zurich Film Festival – and went on to win the Audience Award! After the screening, director Ute von Münchow-Pohl answered questions from the audience and lead voice-actor Noah Levi (winner of German TV talent show “The Voice Kids”) gave a live musical performance. ||New episodes of the Series RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL on TV
RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL is back! Starting August 31st, new episodes of the series can be seen on the German TV channel KiKA every day at 6:35 p.m. Leading up to this, reruns of the episodes originally broadcast in December 2016 will be aired from August 5th – August 30th (6:35 p.m.). You will also be able to buy the series on DVD from Universum Kids.
||Akkord Film receives 200.000€ Slate-Funding from MEDIA Creative Europe
Akkord Film is proud to be one of nine German production companies to receive slate funding from MEDIA Creative Europe for its forthcoming animation projects. Creative Europe will be providing 200.000€ for the development of the animated features PETRONELLA THE APPLEWITCH and THE HEINZELS and the TV-Series RABBIT SCHOOL, based on the successful cinematic feature of the same name.

||RABBIT SCHOOL officially selected for the Giffoni Film Festival and Zurich’s UNICEF Program
The Giffoni Film Festival, one of the most prestigious children's film festivals in the world, will be screening RABBIT SCHOOL – GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG. The Italian festival will take place from July 14th-21st, 2017 and this year's theme is “Into the Magic” - we're happy and proud to take part! Furthermore, the Zurich Film Festival (September 28th - October 8th 2017) has selected RABBIT SCHOOL to be screened as part of the section “ZFF for Kids” which is organized in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF.
||RABBIT SCHOOL nominated for the Children Media Prize THE WHITE ELEPHANT
The Munich Film Festival is around the corner, and along with it, the Munich Media Club will award outstanding children's films with the “The White Elephant” Award. The prestigious prize exists since the year 2000, and we are happy to announce that RABBIT SCHOOL – GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG is amongst the nominees this year. For his performance as Mr. Fritz in RABBIT SCHOOL - GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG Friedrich von Thun is nominated for the German Voice Actor Award. ||RABBIT SCHOOL at "Cinema for Refugees"
RABBIT SCHOOL takes part in the project "Cinema for Refugees" by The German Film Academy, a series of free movie screenings for refugee children and teens. RABBIT SCHOOL - GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG was shown in two cinema halls at Cinestar Potsdamer Platz during Easter holidays. We are honored to be part of this amazing project.
||Akkord Film will bring PETRONELLA THE APPLEWITCH to the big screen
Akkord Film and publisher Boje (part of Bastei Lübbe AG) are planning to enchant audiences through screens big and small with adaptations of best-selling kids’ book series Petronella the Apple Witch. The rights deal was secured at Berlin Film Festival, with Akkord announcing its intent to develop both a feature film and TV series. The cooperation was instigated by Hamburg-based producer Maite Woköck, who is set to produce alongside Akkord. Screenwriter Katja Grübel (RABBIT SCHOOL) is already working on the FFA funded cinema adaption of the books by Sabine Städing. For the full press release see here.
||RABBIT SCHOOL wins two Audience Awards
The audience at Brussels Animation Film Festival (more information), one of the biggest European festivals for animated film (32,000 visitors in 2017), has chosen their favorite movies -and the Audience Award for Best Animated Feature Film for Children goes to L'ECOLE DES LAPINS (french title of RABBIT SCHOOL – GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG). Another audience award comes from the Les Toiles Filantes Festival in Pessac (more information).
||Theatrical release of RABBIT SCHOOL "a real hit”
The first week of RABBIT SCHOOL – GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG lead to 103,518 admissions at the German box office plus 16.575 admissions in Austria where it had a screen average of 330 and came in as # 4 of the weekly b.o. charts against a very strong opening of THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Germany’s trade magazine Blickpunkt:Film called the opening a “real hit”.
||Youth Film Jury awards THE RABBIT SCHOOL with FOUR STARS
„Just because a gang is cool, it doesn’t replace true friends“ – a lesson for life that the Youth Film Jury of the Deutsche Film- und Medienbewertung (German Film and Media Assessment) highlighted in our movie RABBIT SCHOOL – GUARDIANS OF THE GOLDEN EGG. The jury consisting of 10-14-year old film critics awarded the movie with four out of five stars.

Louis Hofmann, the German voice of Raven the Little Rascal in our series, will be honored as a EUROPEAN SHOOTING STAR 2017 at the Berlin International Film Festival this February. The prize is awarded anually to a distinguished selection of Europe's outstanding up-and-coming talents.

||RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL - Start of Akkord's first animated series on KiKA
Starting Dec 1st 2016, cheeky Raven will fly onto TV screens daily at 6:35 pm on Germany's leading children's channel, KiKA. The 26x12' adventures of Raven and his friends were realized in co-production with SWR, NDR & ARD in cooperation with 2Minutes, France. Head writers Katja Grübel and Jan Strathmann led the writers team. The series was directed by Josselin Ronse, music composed by Alex Komlew. There will be 26 more episodes in 2017.

Our next big-screen advanture, RABBIT SCHOOL (3D/CGI-animated), will arrive in German cinemas in March 2017. Smart urban rabbit boy Max can't believe his eyes when he crash-lands after a failed airplane stunt. Raven the Little Rascal will be racing to Toronto for screenings of his second movie “Raven the Little Rascal – The Big Race” with four screenings set throughout April at the prestigious TIFF Kids International Film Festival in Toronto. TIFF Kids is one of the world's largest and most significant children’s film festivals.
||LA COURSE DU SIÈCLE - French theatrical release on October 21st
Over the past seven weeks our Little Raven has been stirring up the Top 10 box office charts in Germany and Austria. Starting October 21st, our "Corbeau" will be up to some mischief in France as well. Sporting the title LA COURSE DU SIÈCLE, the film will be released in more than 100 French cinemas. After celebrating his international premiere at the Giffoni Film Festival (July 17th to 26th 2015) and completing his final training session at the Fünf Seen Festival (July 29th to August 8th 2015), the great starting signal has sounded: Since August 20th, Little Raven and his friends are racing through cinemas all across Germany. But Raven wouldn’t be Raven if he hadn’t already set his mind on his next mission: a race around the entire world! He will be giving his Asian premiere at the Busan International Film Festival (October 1st to 10th 2015). And the Festival Augenblick (November 10th to 27th 2015) will be screening the film in several towns in Alsace, France. Raven is “surer than sure” that he will thrill old and new fans around the globe.

||Huge Ratings Success for RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL
With more than 30% market share in the main target group of 3 to 6 year-olds, Raven's German TV premiere on Easter Monday was a huge success, especially given the strong holiday programming on all channels. With a 16% market share, no daytime program was more successful among 3 to 13 year-olds than Akkord's feature film RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL.

Akkord's animated feature film RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL will be broadcast Easter Monday, April 21st on German kid's channel KikA and on Monday after Pentecost, June 9th at 8:40am on the First German Channel, ARD. Both days are public holidays in Germany.
||Nomination for German Animation Screenplay Award
Katja Grübel's screenplay RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL - THE BIG RACE, currently in production at Akkord Film, is nominated for the German Animation Screenplay Award. The ceremony will be held April 23rd during the 21st International Festival of Animated Film in Stuttgart. The film's European release is expected fall 2015. Akkord is already developing two new projects with the writer who also wrote Akkord's first feature film success of the Raven franchise.

||RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL - A Huge Success in German Cinemas
By now 400,000 tickets have been sold to movie goers, young and old, who wanted to see Little Raven and his friends save their beloved forest.
After a strong box office opening on 448 screens, the number of prints continuously increased to 553 screens over the course of three weeks with the film also being the strongest performer among German productions during that time. The number of screens is a record for German distributor Universum Film. Even on the opening weekend of Madagascar 3, admissions only dropped by 4%. World sales for RAVEN THE LITTLE RASCAL is handled by Beta Film, German booking and billing by Buena Vista Interntl.
